“People have the opportunity to get away for a week and be creatively stimulated by everyone around them who is enthusiastic about glass,” says Kay Bain Weiner, who established the KBW Foundation in 2005 to provide scholarships, grants, school sponsorships, and book distribution to schools. “It is the most wonderful atmosphere. People can talk about glass for seven days and learn, if not from the instructor, from each other. There is such a sharing of knowledge and a wealth of information.”
