Our featured artists were asked, “What do you see as the major changes in the glass world, and how would you advise new artists to cope with them?” The richly rewarding responses explore the evolution of glass as an artistic medium, highlighting major changes such as technological advancements, increased inclusivity, and the blending of traditional techniques with contemporary approaches. Artists Jane Bruce, Daniel Clayman, Laura Donefer, and Michael E. Taylor share their perspectives on the growth of the glass community, the importance of vision and experimentation, and the role of collaboration and business acumen in building successful careers. It emphasizes the need for emerging artists to embrace failure, research deeply, adapt to new tools and trends, and foster diversity and community within the glass art world.
