With kilnformed or torchworked glass, the greatest difference between average and exceptional work is how much is done to the glass after it leaves the kiln or the torch. In this live interactive webinar, Dennis Brady will show you how to use various coldworking techniques to elevate your work whether you’re working in cold, warm, or hot glass.
Dennis will demonstrate how to safely and effectively use coldworking equipment for cutting, grinding, smoothing, and polishing glass and show the difference between working with silicon carbide as compared with diamonds.
Also included is a demonstration of different techniques for cold finishing - both manually and with machines such as a diamond disk grinder, hand grinder, rociprolap, vibrating lap, tile saw, and wet belt sander.
Special emphasis will be placed on using a wet belt sander - the tool most glass artisans consider to be the most valuable and most versatile piece of equipment for producing a professional finish.
You will also learn how to drill glass and how to improve or embellish a finish with sandblasting or etching. Whether your goal is to learn how to reshape glass, improve the finish, or bring it to a fine polish, you will learn how in this class.
Don't miss this incredible opportunity to interact live with Dennis Brady and other class participants via chat! There’s nothing quite like receiving answers to your questions while enjoying the fun and synergy of learning and growing alongside a community of fellow glass art lovers.
