A rare opportunity to study with Joseph Cavalieri the pop culture expressionist!

A man of many talents and skills, Cavalieri will be discussing and demonstrating a

variety of ways to apply imagery onto glass like hand painting, air brushing, inking

and silk‐screening. Silk‐screening on glass allows for great detail and fusing on glass

or layers of glass allows for depth and perspective.

Cavalieri has perfected the silk‐screening technique called “polish fuse”‐kiln fired

enamels fused to the top surface of the glass. Although no screens will be made in

class, students have the option to bring in their own silk‐screens, and will be

directed how to do this after signing up. A variety of silk‐screens with patterns,

graphics and photographs will be available for class use.

Follow along as the process of incorporating these fired elements are discussed

and demonstrated using traditional stained glass basics like cutting glass, copper

foiling and soldering. Additionally, examples of framing and lighting tips and tricks

will teach you how to show off your work to its best advantage.

Cavalieri enjoys sharing and is looking forward to discussing with you how to “package yourself”, “market your art”

and the “successful steps to securing an artist residency” topics.

This promises to be an interactive experience with you as a primary participant. Come and enjoy his tried and true

methods combined with time‐honored processes used by medieval stained glass artists. Students can choose to

leave the class with one finished work or a stack of painted glass samples, or for the ambitious, both!
