Get ready for the holidays! In this class students will make 5-6 festive ornaments while learning the basics of etching with printable resist and sandblasting with vinyl. You'll learn how to create your artwork using vinyl cutter software, how to cut the vinyl with a vinyl cutting machine, how to apply the vinyl to glass and then how to sandblast your image. Various ways to etch dichroic glass will also be covered including direct application of etching cream and using resists. Students will also get lots of practice cutting out glass shapes using the ring saw and boy is that fun!
If you have a laptop computer please bring it along! (Basic computer and digital image editing skills are helpful but not required for the class.)
