Ceramic and metal clays share a great many characteristics.  For this reason, combining them in a single art form seems a logical process.  Students will combine ceramic clay forms with fine silver clay to create spirits, fairies or whimsical faces.  Already fired ceramic clay faces will be provided.

Project:  A unusual and dramatic fine silver pendant, fibula pin or sculpture adding character and emotion to a ceramic face.

Techniques:

  • Learn the similarities and differences between ceramic and fine silver clays.
  • Learn firing schedules for combining the two materials.

Class Kit: ceramic face.

Materials:  PMC3 clay and paste are required.  Sterling silver wire is required for the fibula pin.  Class Kit and required materials are available for purchase at the time of the class.
