Lampworking legend, Lewis Wilson, makes his webinar debut demonstrating several of his signature boro figures. In his first demonstration, that of his famed Indian Dancers, Lewis will give you a good, basic understanding of how to construct a small, simple figure created in living boro color. The second demonstration, also in living boro color, is a cheerful "Keep On Truckin’” fella inspired by R. Crumb's work in the 1960's. With this piece, learn how to approach doing a cartoon type figure, with its elongated, exaggerated leg and arm positions. Inspired by Tolkien’s “Hobbit”, Lewis’s third demonstration, a clear sculpture, re-creates the character Gollum, sitting naked and cross legged.
An icon in the industry, Lewis is well known for his fantasy figures and winged sculptures. He's been interpreting Indian Dancers for over thirty-four years. Some of his work has been gifted to heads of state, including King Juan Carlos of Spain, Bill Clinton, and George Bush (the first!).
Beginning his hot glass career at Disney, and also known for other skills such as fire eating, Lewis combines "old school" flameworking with fun and fantasy. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how to make solid sculpted boro figures from one of the industry’s best!
