Vessels and Hollow Forms with Doni Hatz
Instructor: Doni Hatz Skill Level: Intermediate
This class will explore scientific glassblowing techniques applied to artistic shapes.
This includes incorporating straight seals, side seals, ringseals, blinds seal and more into beads, bottles, goblets and abstract forms
with colored rods, powders and frit.
We will make small scale projects to allow time to incorporate many of the specialized techniques.
This will be a unique twist in the transformation of science and art blended together in functional art and more.
Doni Hatz has blown glass for over 20 years (actually 29 yrs but then it tells my age) specializing in scientific glassblowing. While she has worked in research for many years she also strives to understand glass art fabrication methods.
She has trained under several teachers in New Jersey, New York and Italy.
