This remarkably simple system developed by artist Milon Townsend allows you to create a reverse relief pendant with the hole already cast in place!
You will take full advantage of the transparent nature of glass by casting an image on the reverse side of your pendant. You'll learn how to grind and polish the front surface to expose the inner beauty of the cast crystal pendant. You will have multiple molds to work with during the class, and beautifully colored crystal with which to cast them.
Coldworking will be demonstrated, and you'll have some access to a flat lap machine to try it yourself. Milon will show the process of casting a larger reverse relief tile or block. Milon will demonstrate and fully explain the process of making your own silicone rubber molds so that you can create pendants with your own images, on your return home. Each student will be able to take 3 – 5 pendant castings home with them. Students bring: several very small objects, no bigger than ½ " in any dimension.
