Dry fine silver clay, either "leather hard" or "bone dry" provides a wonderful carving material.  This class combines proper sizing, thickness, firing and design concepts for rings with carving techniques for a uniquely textured work.

Project:  The student will carve the ring band in a personalized design.  Use of a fine silver bezel cup and a gemstone is optional.

Techniques:

• Allow for the PMC shrinkage and create a ring so that it fits your finger.
• Use a ring mandrel and to construct a ring with a joint which is strong yet invisible.

• Design a texture.
• Outline the texture on the dry clay surface.
• Select and use carving tools to remove dry clay.

Materials:  PMC3 Clay, Paste and Syringe are required.  Bezel cups and small stones are optional.  Materials may be purchased at the time of the class.

Note:  The instructor will supply carving tools for use by students in the class.  Tools for use at home may be ordered from the instructor.

The fee for a one day class at Bead Boutique is $95.
