Cathy Coverley: Stories Cast in Glass

An artist's interpretation of an event can reflect a viewer's unique life experience. Like any great storyteller, making this connection is Cathy Coverley's goal. During her two-week residency at Uroboros Glass this past March, the artist created a new body of work - a series of kiln cast sculptures inspired by reliquary, to honor the memory of loved ones lost. In these pieces, Coverley creates a collage of images with copper inclusions and pre-cast elements to capture a chronology of time, emotion and the experience of loss.
