Dixie Friend Gay: Exploring the Mystery and Power of Nature
Painting, sculpture, and drawings are all in Dixie Friend Gay’s repertoire. But in the last five years, the artist has focused on public art projects. In 2002, she completed a massive public art commission at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport. The installation titled “Houston Bayou” comprises a Byzantine glass mosaic mural on a serpentine wall, columns and the terrazzo floor design.
