"The Big Spring Panel Project"
How Sculptor Steve Maeck Resurrected Edward J. Byrne's Dalle de Verre Panels

"The Big Spring Panel Project" can be found on a beautiful ridge and quarry on the outskirts of the small city of Decorah. Construction required the skills of local ironworkers, blacksmiths, riggers and laborers to erect the panels, originally created almost 40 years ago.

Kiln Corner with Marty Daily
The Art of Changing Elements: Part I

Changing kiln elements is a way of life for all electric kiln users. Many glass artists are concerned and afraid when it comes to the chore of changing their kiln's elements. In actuality, changing elements is relatively simple and straightforward. If one has minimal mechanical skills and can operate a screwdriver and pair of pliers, he or she can change their elements.
